Now navigate to the directory where Discord is installed on your computer. Press Windows + E to launch the File Explorer. Try using discord in a web browser to screenshare audio on any browser: Opera, Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.ħ. Lazy? Last time I checked I think they tell you to change audio subsystem to Legacy and turn off Quality of Service High Packer Priority. Search for discord’s help guide on fixing no audio when screen-sharing.

Microsoft Edge is apparently also another browser that can be used to transmit audio but not sure if this is confirmed, try see if it works? If it still fails, try adding Opera to the Game Activity HELP?: If it still doesn’t work, maybe try open discord in administrator mode then screen share Opera. Use another browser called “Opera” which is the only other browser apart from Google Chrome that can transmit audio. HELP?: This is experimental but you could try open your sound settings - playback and disable the other playback devices other than the one your using to listen to the audio and see if that may help? Make sure your input device is matched to the audio transmitting out. And if no audio plays then close the administrator version of Google Chrome and re-open it and see if it appears on your game activity. Still doesn’t work? Run Google Chrome in administrator mode. Put “Google Chrome” as your game activity by clicking HELP?: If you don’t see Google Chrome on the list, close it and re-open it. TRY THESE FIXES IF THE FIXES ABOVE DON’T WORK You could try running discord in administrator mode then screen-sharing Opera, or any other browser. When you screen share, make sure to switch to "Application Window" instead of "Your Entire Screen" at the top and make sure the sound is turned on - toggled on. Joris reported below that he's getting the same issue on his windows PC that isn't running under Bootcamp! So the issue is more widespread than first thought. In this post I will give you all the ways to fix your problem with sharing audio when screen-sharing that I know! This may be the presence of other QC35s in my office or maybe just other Bluetooth devices? In any case, I've now resorted to hard-wiring them when sitting at my desk as the blips can really throw off my concentration. That being said, it's a particularly irritating bug as this screen is more than likely to be open after connecting your headphones and testing that they work correctly!Ī couple of people have commented on this post and I thought it would be worthwhile summarising the salient points:Ĭlosing the Bluetooth window mostly solves the issue but you may still experience a "blip" every now and again.

I would assume that the issue exists because the driver isn't able to search for new devices and play audio at the same time. And it all boils down to this: if the screen to manage Bluetooth devices is open, you will have stuttering sound. I was thus a surprise when I turned on my laptop this afternoon to have one last tinker and clear, crisp audio started playing! WTF?! Seemingly nothing had changed!Īfter a bit of back and forward, trying to disconnect and reconnect the headphones I managed to replicate the issue.

Queue the next 5 hours spent digging through the depths of Google, trying different suggestions and ultimately ending up with nothing to show for it except that the Windows drivers Apple supply for the Broadcom Bluetooth chipset are somehow substandard - especially when it comes to Bluetooth audio. I didn't have any trouble pairing but as soon as I started the music, all that came through was a stuttered mess of noise.

Rather, it's a nasty little bug I ran into when trying to connect them to my Macbook Pro running Windows 10 under Bootcamp. I must have been good this year because Santa put a pair of the Bose QC35 wireless, noise cancelling headphones under my tree for Christmas! While the headphones are truly excellent, especially the noise cancelling, they're not the subject of this post. TLDR Close the "Manage Bluetooth Devices" screen.
